5-day Dasmesh Pita Semagam kicks off at Kampar

The five-day kirtan and katha programme at Kampar, a town about 45km from the Perak state capital of Ipoh, kicks start today.

Dasmesh Pita Semagam, an annual Sikh programme which started in 2012, is held in conjunction with parkash dihara of Guru Gobind Singh.

It is organised by Sikh Naujawan Sabha Kampar with the support of Pertubuhan Pembangunan Insan Sikh Perak (PPIS), Gurdwara Sahib Kampar, Sikh Naujawan Sabha Malaysia (SNSM) and SikhInside.

The programme will feature speaker Bhai Jaswant Singh Parwana. Among the raagi jathas are Bhai Niranjan Singh Jawaddi Kalan Wale, Bhai Amandeep Singh Bibi Koulan Wale, Bhai Anantvir Singh and Bhai Baldev Singh Vadala.

Some of the raagis who have taken part in the semagam in the past were Bhai Ongkar Singh Una Saheb, Bhai Harcharan Singh Hazoori Raagi Sri Darbar Saheb, Bhai Gurnimit Singh Rajrangila, Bhai Ravinder Singh Delhi, Bhai Gurpreet Singh Shimla, Bhai Manjeet Singh Glasgow, and Bhai Lakhvinder Singh Hazoori Raagi Sri Darbar Saheb [Corrected].

The programme will be held from 30 Dec to 3 Jan at Gurdwara Sahib Kampar.
