Gurdwara Sahib Johor Bahru committee members had yesterday joined a multiracial crowd to show their support for the Johor royal family in light of the ongoing spat between the the state’s crown prince and a Federal government minister.
The Sikh team was led by GS Johor Bahru committee president Manjeet Singh.
“Represented Gurdwara Sahib Johor Bahru for and on behalf the Sikh community to express our support and loyalty to His Majesty DYMM Sultan of Johor, Raja Permaisuri, Tengku Mahkota Johor and the Royal Family of the Johor Sultanate with other NGOs at Istana Besar Johor,” he said on his personal Facebook page.
In a report in The Star yesterday, Manjeet Singh said the Sikh community wanted Tourism and Culture Minister Datuk Seri Nazri Aziz to issue an open apology to Johor Crown Prince Tunku Ismail Sultan Ibrahim.
“It is even stated in our Rukun Negara that we have to be loyal to the Sultans. He should be more respectful,” he was quoted as saying.
