If you see Sikh ladies in Hong Kong, chances are some of them are now better prepared to administer first aid in the event of an emergency.
Last month, some 30 of them, including kindergarten teachers, took part in a one-day first aid course organised by the Khalsa Diwan Hong Kong Sikh Temple with the help of St John Ambulance and Bhai Kanhaiya Ji Education and Foundation Group.
“They have been certified by the Sat John’s team. The participants were made to sit for an exam,” said Jasmeet Singh from the organising team.
Earlier, the same Hong Kong-based foundation had also organised a blood donation campaign. To their surprise, they found out that some Sikhs have been regular donors.
