Harmandir Sahib, popularly known as the Golden Temple, came out tops in the top 10 listing of the most beautiful temples by a travel website.
The Amritsar-based Sikh shrine was ranked first in the listing at Place To See In Your Lifetime.
However, the website did provide information as to how the ranking was done or by whom. The same website has also run listings like best cruises in picturesque places, cool beach cities and most beautiful waterfalls.
The second spot went to Hindu temple Prambanan in Central Java, Indonesia. The third spot went to the Sri Ranganathaswamy hindu shrine in Srirangam, India. It is said to be the most important temple to Vishnu and has a colorful building architecture true to the Dravidian style.
Sixth comes the St. Basil’s Cathedral in Moscow, Russia. Its a Russian Orthodox church built in 16th century. – ASIA SAMACHAR (3 March 2015)
