The Selangor State government is organising a state level Vaisakhi open house in Petaling Jaya on 25 April 2015, with the Selangor mentri besar Azmin Ali attending.
The event is organised with the Coalition of Malaysian Sikh Organisations (CMSO) and Majlis Bandaraya Petaling Jaya (Petaling Jaya City Council).
“The coalition will coordinate, among others, the programme and food,” CMSO secretary general Autar Singh told Asia Samachar. MBPJ will provide all the facilities and logistics.
CMSO has set up an organising team which is meeting at Gurdwara Sahib Petaling Jaya (GSPJ) at 7pm on Monday, 30 March.
A meeting with all Selangor-based Sikh organisations and gurdwaras is planned for 7.30pm on Wednesday, 1 April, also at GSPJ, to coordinate the programme, he said.
Autar said CMSO have had a number of preparatory meetings with Selangor state executive V. Ganapathi Rao and his staff since mid-March.
The Saturday event which is open to all will take place from 5pm-10pm at Padang Timor, Petaling Jaya.
