Lawyer Ranjit Kaur took home the main title at the Mrs Malaysia World 2015 pageant held in Kuala Lumpur last week. Two other Punjabi ladies, Soni Deol and Rita Olikh, won titles in sub-categories.
Ranjit, 50, emerged champion of the classic category at the pageant final on 23 Oct.
“In my eyes all the contestants were winners as stepping out of our comfort zone at this age was a challenge to all of us. It truly was a wonderful journey,” said the mother-of-two in a Facebook update.

Rita, 42, is an entrepreneur with two children from Ipoh, Perak. She was picked as the Mrs Malaysia World 2015 Goodwill Ambassador. In sub-titles, she won in Most Elegance and Best in Confident.
Soni bagged two titles at the pageant: Mrs Community Queen and Mrs Body Beautiful.
The 29-year old freelance model believes she won the Mrs. Community Queen because of her keen fellowship with other contestants.
“I have also been actively involved in many activities of the Punjabi community simply because we share common attitudes, interest and goals,” she tells Asia Samachar.
Soni is an active volunteer at the Gurdwara Sahib Pulapol in Kuala Lumpur.
