Harpreet Singh, son of late Sardar Jaspal Singh and grandson of late Sardar Mewa Singh of Kampung Timah, Tanjung Tualang, Perak, was diagnosed with leukemia in 2011. He underwent a bone marrow transplant in 2012. He passed away due to acute exacerbation of chronic lung disease caused by GVHD, according to a note from the family.
