As the world ushers in the Chinese New Year (CNY), also known as Spring Festival or Lunar New Year, Asia Samachar enters into its fifth month of operations.
CNY marks the start of the Chinese calendar. Each Chinese New Year is named after one of the 12 animals in the Chinese zodiac. This year, its the Year of the Wooden Sheep, also known as Year of Ram or Goat).
As with most shopping malls, newly opened NU Sentral Mall, located in the heart of KL Sentral — one of Kuala Lumpur’s logistics hub — has been painted red, figuratively speaking.
One item caught the attention of Asia Samachar editors. Playing on the theme of the past, the mall operators had put up shops and restaurants of the past. There, you find a figure of a Sardar Ji selling vegetables and other household items. We found our CNY photo!
