Klang opens application for Deepavali bazaar

Traders interested to secure lots at the Klang Deepavali Bazaar have until Oct 16 to submit their applications, with voting scheduled for Oct 22.

The Klang Municipal Council will offer trading lots to 100 businesses at three spots: Lorong Tingkat, Lorong Mydin dan Lorong Rembau. They will be allowed to trade for two weeks from Oct 27 to Nov 9.

Klang is one of the 12 districts in the state of Selangor that have planned special bazaars for the Festival of Lights.

The applications is open to Malaysian citizens holding the necessary trading licenses, temporary business permit for 2015 or the Deepavali permits for 2014, according to the council acting secretary Zahrin Md Nasir.

In the past, Sikhs selling Punjabi suits and Punjabi sweets have taken up spots at some locations, including Brickfields in Kuala Lumpur.
