Rammit Kaur speaks on arbitration at KL law conference

Rammit Kaur, the head the legal services at a Malaysian-based arbitration outfit, was one of the speakers at the two-day International Islamic Banking and Finance Law Conference which ended in Kuala Lumpur today.

The Kuala Lumpur Regional Centre for Arbitration (KLRCA) legal services head spoke on the the Financial Mediation Bureau and the Financial Ombudsman Scheme Regulation 2015.

The KLRCA provides institutional support for domestic and international arbitration andother alternative dispute resolution proceedings to settle disputes for the benefit of parties engaged in trade, commerce and investments with and within the Asia Pacific region.

The KLRCA offers hearing facilities at Sulaiman Building in Kuala Lumpur (opposite the new Majestic Hotel) and ancillary administrative services to tribunals operating ad hoc or under the auspices of another institution.

Prior to joining KLRCA in May 2011, Rammit had served as the legal counsel at public listed company Wah Seong Corporation Bhd for one year from October 2008. Before that, she was headed the project legal advisory at Government-owned Syarikat Prasarana Negara Bhd from 2005. Here, she led and managed the legal team.

The two-day conference, officiated by Perak Sultan Nazrin Muizzuddin Shah, was jointly organised by the Bar Council Malaysia and the Malaysian Current Law Journal.
