Sungai Sikhs gathered to celebrate the 550th birthday of Guru Nanak as they continue to push their current gurdwara tagline of ‘Sangat Friendly Gurdwara’.
Gurdwara Sahib Sungai Petani (GSSP) held various activities to celebrate the 550th birthday of Guru Nanak.
GSSP management committee president Gurcharan Singh Randhawa said one key activity for the gurdwara was running the Punjabi Education Centre (PEC), the weekend Punjabi school.
“PEC is our main goal. It is currently doing very well with the support of the parents and teachers,” he said in a note emailed to Asia Samachar.
The PEC, with 39 students and seven teachers, is led by Mohan Singh as its principal.

With changing times Gurdwara Mgt Ctees should also also consider Sanggat’s funds also to expand education facilities like computer literacy. This should be in addition to Punjabi language studies.
Other forms may include sponsoring deserving and needy Sikh youths to enhance their skills where they are marketable.
TIMES ARE CHANGING SO GMC SHOULD CHANGE MINDSETS.
