Malaysian Indian Transformation Unit (MITRA) is now open to receiving applications for financial grants for this year.

The federal government agency began receiving proposals to improve the Indian community since Jan 20.

In the past, not many Sikh-based organisations had made avail of the funding.

All applications are processed via an online grant application system.

MITRA, a unit under the Prime Minister’s Department, was known as the Socio-economic development of the Indian community Unit (SEDIC) under the previous Barisan Nasional-led government.

The note shared by Mitra:

  1. Is this the 100 million fund allocated for ‘indians’ yearly? If yes all legitimate Sikh groups should apply and see how much you get. I doubt much as beggars cant be choosers and since we’re too weak and withour proper leadership to get Direct yearly government allocation that we have to rely on other religions/races for funding.Of course all the good bits would be chewed by their own and only little bones would be given to us,if any at all.
Has Asia Samachar applied for funds? I think you guys should try your luck. Go ask for 100k.
