Regular visitors to major gurdwaras in India would have noticed one interesting development in the halls that serve guru-ka-langgar. An innovation has been injected into the way they serve drinks: water and chaa.
In Taktht Kesgarh Sahib, Anandpur Sahib, for example, they serve tea to the members of the sanggat from a container mounted onto wheels. The sewadar pushes it around with a handle just like the one you find on a bicycle. And he has a lever which he pulls to dish out the chaa.
No more breaking your back carrying some heavy containers. Now, it chaa and paani on wheels!
