SINGAPORE: Police are investigating the unnatural death of a maid, believed to be believed to be Palwinder Kaur, who is said to have jumped to her death on the morning of Jan 19, 2015, according to reports in Singapore newspapers.

Police said they received a call at 8.02am requesting assistance along Bedok Reservoir View. They found the body of a woman lying motionless at the location. She was pronounced dead by paramedics at the scene, reports Straits Times. The woman is believed to be Palwinder Kaur, a maid who worked for one of the residents at Aquarius by the Park.

According to reports, the maid allegedly attacked her employer with a hammer before she jumped. The maid was due to be sent back as her employer suspected her of stealing, Shin Min Daily News said.

The newspaper report added that her employer was sent to hospital, and recounted how she was attacked to a neighbour, IT consultant Abishek, 40. He told Shin Min that the maid held her employer’s nose and mouth, and hit her head with a hammer.

She struggled and bit the maid’s hand, then ran out of the house. She alerted the neighbours and security guards. When they returned to the apartment, the maid ran to her room and jumped, a guard said, the report added.
