PSU re-elects Gurjeet as president, Hardev made deputy

Gurjeet Singh Rhande has been re-elected for another two-year term as the president of Perak Sikh Union (PSU).

Hardev Singh was elected as the deputy president while Harkiran Deep Singh was re-elected as the secretary. All will serve the term till 2017.

PSU held its 28th Annual General Meeting on July 4 at Greentown Gurdwara, Ipoh.

PSU’s core events are the Vasakhi games festival, an annual national kirtan competition in Ipoh and the Gurdwara Cup.

PSU’s meeting followed by a victory dinner attended by some 150 people to celebrate Perak’s victory in the recent Gurdwara Cup held in Penang.

The Perak team, managed by PSU, created history by emerging as the overall champion for the first time in the 64 years of the Gurdwara Cup Festival

In his speech, Gurjeet said PSU will continue to play its role in promoting sports among its youth.

Moving forward, he said PSU is working towards building a club house on a piece of land it had purchased earlier. It will consist a multi purpose hall, fields and sports complex for the Sikhs.
