Retired civil servant Sukhveer Singh, the former patron and president of the Malaysian Sikh Union (MSU), passed away today (12 Oct). He was 85.
He was also the former president of the Wadda Gurdwara Sahib Kampung Pandan, Kuala Lumpur, in 1980s.
Sukhveer was one first name basis with former Prime Minister Abdullah Ahmad Badawi. He had served under Abdullah who was at one time the Minister of Youth.
He retired from the civil service as a director of the Dusun Tua Vocational Training Centre and then went on to join a Johor-based institute under Universiti Teknologi MARA.
