The dental clinic at the recent Malacca annual prayer programme was well received with more than 200 patients undergoing check-ups and receiving scalling treatment.
Operating just behind the Gurdwara Sahib Malacca main building, the 25 dental team came from government dental clinics in Klebang, Ayer Molek and Seri Tanjung.
“This year, we added treatment for scaling,” Dr Foo Sue Ling Anishya, who led the team, told Asia Samachar.
The dental clinic was one of the sideline activities at the four-day Sant Baba Sohan Singh Ji Salaana Yaadgar Semagam 2016 which ended on 22 May 2016. The annual programme is held in the memory of the late Sikh granthi-parcharak Baba Sohan Singh.
This is the second year in a row that the clinic was organised.
The team, including five dental officers, also conducted the eight steps to detect oral cancel.
“Patients were quite eager to know more. This year, we also had many of the Gianis coming forward,” she said.
Asked if the programme should be held again next year, Dr Anishya said: “Yes.”
