The building of Gurdwara Sahib Kuyow, located along the Kuala Lumpur-Seremban highway, was partially damaged in a hailstorm at around 6.30pm today.
The thunderstorm blew off the roof over the darbar sahib which damaged the plaster ceiling and the carpet.
“No one was injured. The granthi was around at that time. The rain was really heavy,” Kuyow gurdwara management committee president Charanjeet Singh told Asia Samachar. “Some big trees around the gurdwara was also uprooted.”
A group of volunteers plan to meet up at 9am tomorrow (4 June) to assist in the clean up and repair works.
Those interested to donate for the repairs can send their funds to the gurdwara’s account: RHB Bank 2121 25 000 83096 registered under ‘Persatuan Pengurusan Gurdwara Sahib Kuyoh’. Charanjeet can be contacted at +6012-9042255.
