Charanjit Singh is the fastest runner at Kuala Lumpur-based Sri Dasmesh International School when he took gold for the 100m dash at the school’s recent sports day.
He also won gold in the 400m, long jump and the 4x100m relay, helping him to become the Sportsman of the Year. He also got a bronze in the interbatch 100m relay against former school students.
However, he was unable to better the school’s 100m record of 11.6 seconds set by Chai Jee Fong in 2016.
Beverly Siow took the Sportswoman of the Year title at the conclusion of the school’s sports day on 18 March 2017.
Charanjit said he began his training with daily workouts and going to the gym three times a week, while watching his diet since January.
“There is no glory in training but without training there is no glory,” he tells Asia Samachar.
