MALAYSIA: Dilpreet Kaur and Chai Jee Fong emerged as the sportwoman and sportsman, respectively, for the Sri Dasmesh International School (SDIS) Sports Day 2015.
Dilpreet followed the footsteps of her sister, Baldip Kaur, who also became a sportwoman in the school a few years ago. Dilpreet, 17, was also the winner of SDIS’s only medal at the state level competition. [See story here].
Team Yellow emerged as the overall champions, its first since 2011, at the events today (14 Mar 2015) at the University Malaya Sports Stadium in Kuala Lumpur.
Team Yellow scored 1,487 points. Next came Green (1,402) followed by Blue 1,398 and Red 1,394.
Yellow was last champions in 2010 and 2011. Team Green was the top team in the 2014 school sports. In 2013, it was Red while Blue was tops in 2012.
The other sportsman and sportswoman for their respective groups were Rohit Singh, Akaaljoth Singh, Kabir Singh and Beverly Siow.
Dilpreet won three golds (cross country, long jump, 400m and 4x100m girls group A) and one silver (4x400m mix). Chai won two golds (100m and 200m) and two silvers (long jump and 4×100).
