Punjabi youth goes missing in Malaysia, kin seek help

A youth of Monarawali village in Garhshankar has reportedly gone went missing from his ship in Malaysia.The family has not been able to contact him since June 2, reports The Tribune.

Later, his co-workers called his family here and they came to know that their son Palvinder Singh had suddenly disappeared from the ship, according to the Punjab newspaper.

The family has now requested the External Affairs Ministry to make efforts to find him. Palvinder’s brother Gurvinder Singh and uncle Pargat Ram said Palvinder had last called them on June 2.

They said on May 18, he had left for Malaysia on a Merchant Navy ship.They said they got a call from his co-workers that while working on the ship, Palvinder was tying a heavy rope when he slipped off the ship and fell in sea.

They told him that the ship management and Malaysian navy were searching for him.

“After that there was no trace of Palvinder. The company officials have gone incommunicado,” they alleged.
