Hyderabad engineer dies in US skydiving wind accident

A sudden gust of wind disrupted a software engineer’s parachute during landing, causing a fatal 30-foot fall in Massachusetts.

The accident occurred on July 12 at around 4 p.m. in Orange, Massachusetts, and Mani Chandra Teja Gaddam, 28, was pronounced dead at Athol Hospital shortly after. No equipment malfunction has been indicated so far.

Gaddam, who had recently earned his A Licence in skydiving, was working at Fidelity Investments in Boston.

State police, local authorities, and the FAA are probing the accident, the second fatality at Jumptown Skydiving in under a year, according to reports.
