There are moments when words seem inadequate. The sudden passing of Majinder Singh Chohan, lovingly known as “Min”, at just 46, has left a profound void in his family, friends and the wider Sikh community.

Only days after celebrating his birthday, Majinder travelled to Malaysia with his sixteen-year-old son, Akaal Singh, to visit the family’s ancestral home in Bentong, Pahang. During a family trip to Thailand, he first sought Guru Sahib’s blessings at Gurdwara Sahib Hatyai in Songkhla. There, in the sacred presence of Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji, he peacefully breathed his last.

Majinder lived with humility, compassion and sewa. At Khalsa Jatha Gurdwara, Shepherd’s Bush, he served quietly and selflessly. A gifted tabla and dhol player, he accompanied distinguished kirtanis, uplifted the Sangat through Gurbani, and brought joy to weddings, Vaisakhi celebrations and community gatherings.

Yet his greatest gift was his kindness. He cherished family, friendship, nature and all living beings, leaving behind not wealth, but love, faith and treasured memories.

May Waheguru grant the Chohan family strength and Chardi Kala, bless Akaal Singh with resilience, and grant Majinder’s soul eternal peace.

Until we meet again, dear Min, your music and spirit will remain forever in our hearts.
