Defending champions India stormed into the semi-finals of the AHF Junior Asia Cup 2026 after thrashing Chinese Taipei 15-0 in their final Pool A match in Moqi, China, on Wednesday (Sept 9).

Captain Anmol Ekka led the rout with six goals, all from penalty corners, as India finished top of the group with 10 points from three wins and a draw.

Chinese Taipei frustrated India in a goalless opening quarter before Aryan Xess broke the deadlock in the 17th minute. Prabhdeep Singh and Gursewak Singh quickly added two more before Ekka struck twice as India surged to a 6-0 half-time lead.

India continued to dominate after the break, with Ekka adding four more goals. Harpal scored twice, while Xess completed a brace, with Ajeet Yadav and Arjun Santosh Hargude also finding the net. Rai Manmeet Singh (No 24) was chosen as the Player of the Match.

South Korea finished second in Pool A after beating Japan 3-2.
