Qawwali fans can grab discounted tickets for the Mehr Ali & Sher Ali Ensemble performance on Sunday (Sept 20) evening in Petaling Jaya.

The Pakistan qawwali group will be display their talent in their one-show-only in Malaysia at the Auditorium MBPJ at 8.30pm.

It is final performance piece in the inaugural Kuala Lumpur International Arts Festival in 2015 curated by Pusaka, a non-profit organization supporting the continuity and viability of traditional performance arts in Malaysia.

In conjunction with Malaysia Day, it is offering a special 48-hour flash sale (started midnight on Sept 16) for the Qawwali concert. It flash sale ends tonight (Sept 18).

Mehr and Sher Ali were born in the Pakistani border town of Kasur in the early 1950s and received their early training in classical music from their father, who was a court classical singer at the small Sikh principality of Patiala (now in India).

Their father then became the disciple of Fateh Ali Khan, the father of the famous Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan, and young Sher Ali was the student of Bakhshi Salamat Ali Qawwal.
