Panjabi Education Centre (PEC) Subang made a vibrant splash on the cultural scene with its first-ever concert, ‘Rangla Punjab’, with a lively celebration of Panjabi pride.

The event, driven by the PEC Subang Parent-Teacher Association (PTA) under the dynamic leadership of project manager Simran Kaur, brought students, parents and teachers together for a night bursting with rhythm, colour and community spirit.

The event was held at the auditorium of the Asia Pacific University (APU) in Kuala Lumpur.

From the opening beat, the showcase pulsed with energy. Nursery and primary school students had the crowd cheering with their high-spirited bhangra numbers, while the school choir delivered soulful harmonies that tugged at heartstrings. Laughter filled the hall during a witty sketch by the adult Gurmukhi class, proving that learning Panjabi is ageless and full of fun. The stage continued to shine as students displayed skill and flair on the tabla, waja and dhol — a testament to the thriving traditional music programmes at Gurdwara Sahib Subang.

Moving forward, PTA chairman Sukhveer Singh said the team plans to collaborate with other PEC centres across the Klang Valley to create even bigger cultural platforms for the next generation.

The night was strongly backed by the Gurdwara Sahib Subang committee, PEC Subang principal and teachers, emcee Roshan and the ever-energetic Dhollmasters, all of whom helped elevate the show’s festive atmosphere.

With its blend of emotion, tradition and youthful sparkle, Rangla Punjab not only celebrated Panjabi culture but also strengthened connections across generations — a joyful reminder of the community’s enduring spirit of Chardi Kala.
