Daljit Singh carries Jalur Gemilang to Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games

When we speak about Malaysians at the Asian Games, attention naturally turns to athletes, coaches, victories and medals.

But Malaysia is also represented by respected technical officials whose knowledge, professionalism and integrity earn them appointments at the highest levels of Asian sport.

One of them is Daljit Singh, appointed by the Asian Hockey Federation as Assistant Technical Delegate for the hockey competition at the 20th Asian Games – Aichi-Nagoya 2026 in Japan.

This is more than another overseas appointment.

THIS IS MALAYSIA ON THE INTERNATIONAL STAGE. ????????

A retired international hockey umpire and experienced technical official, Daljit has spent almost two decades officiating at major competitions in Malaysia and abroad.

His assignments include the Asian Games, Commonwealth Games, SEA Games, Asia Cup, Asian Games Qualifiers, Nations Cup, Sultan Azlan Shah Cup and Sultan of Johor Cup. Along the way, he has taken on responsibilities as Judge, Technical Officer and Technical Delegate.

He has also made the transition from official to educator, sharing his experience with the next generation of hockey officials.

That is the progression that matters:

You learn.
You serve.
You gain experience.
You lead.
Then you develop others.

International appointments are earned through years of performance, discipline, knowledge and, above all, trust.

At the Asian Games, Daljit will not be there only as an individual. He carries the Jalur Gemilang with him.

His achievement is also a reminder to young Malaysians that representing the country in sport is not limited to being an athlete.

Malaysia needs players, coaches, umpires, technical officials, educators, administrators, scientists and sporting leaders capable of performing on the international stage.

Congratulations, Daljit Singh. May this appointment inspire another generation of Malaysians to aim beyond our borders.
