Former Singapore parliamentarian Inderjit Singh is taking a more active role and a larger equity stake in Page Advisor Pte Ltd, an online platform that allows consumers to select and hire local service providers in Singapore and Malaysia.

Inderjit, who is the CEO of Solstar International Pte Ltd, will now assume the chairmanship of the two-year outfit.

He has “exercised his option and signed a Term Sheet based on a pre-agreed 7-figure valuation, in exchange for additional equity and increased responsibility as Chairman of the Board,” said founder and group chief executive officer Fabian Lim in a short statement on his personal Facebook page.

“Inderjit’s new responsibility will significantly help steer our investor and expansion strategy along with user and merchant growth!,” he adds.

Inderjit was a four-term Member of Parliament (MP) for the Ang Mo Kio GRC led by Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong. He did not seek re-election in the 2015 General Election to allow him to ‘spend more time’ on his work and family.

Page Advisor made its debut in Singapore in May and then expanded to Malaysia in July. In the same statement, the company said that it has ‘achieved total gross transactions of S$500,000 (or RM1,500,000) in exactly 5 months since launch’.

Some of the service providers listed on its platform are zircon services, cleaning services, alternate healing, computer repair, gardener, handyman, plumber, transportation and vocal training.
