Putrajaya gurdwara launches RM1.188 million fundraising campaign

PUTRAJAYA: Gurdwara Sahib Putrajaya has launched a fundraising campaign seeking RM1.188 million to help build its new complex, calling on the Sikh community and well-wishers to contribute towards what organisers describe as a shared legacy for future generations.

The campaign is built around the proposed 1,188-square-metre ground floor area of the new Gurdwara Sahib Putrajaya Complex, with organisers hoping to secure the support of 1,188 sponsors.

A minimum sponsorship of RM1,000 has been set, with contributors invited to become part of the foundation of the new complex.

“Today, we build the walls. Tomorrow, generations will build memories within them,” the campaign message reads.

The new complex is envisaged as more than a place of worship. It is expected to support a range of religious, educational and community activities, including daily diwan programmes, Gurbani kirtan and katha, langgar seva, Sikh education and youth activities, and community welfare initiatives.

Organisers said the fundraising drive is aimed at securing a permanent spiritual and community home that can serve the Sangat for generations.

The campaign carries the message “Be a part of history”, urging members of the community to participate through their seva (service) and financial contributions.
