Representatives of the National Gurdwara Sahib Putrajaya met Malaysia’s Digital Minister Gobind Singh Deo on Monday (Jan 12) to brief him on development plans for a proposed gurdwara in Putrajaya, the country’s administrative capital.
The delegation, led by Inder Singh, provided an update on the project’s progress and outlined its intended role in serving the Sikh community in Putrajaya and neighbouring areas.
In a statement shared on his social media platforms, Gobind said the initiative was close to his heart.
“The development and well-being of the Sikh community in this country are very close to my heart. I was honoured to meet representatives of the Gurdwara Sahib Putrajaya Association, who shared their plans for the development of a gurdwara in the city. This meaningful initiative will not only serve the Sikh community in Putrajaya, but also benefit the surrounding areas,” he said.
Asia Samachar will share further details on the proposed gurdwara as they become available.

I am curious on the name for Gurdwara Putrajaya as National Gurdwara. Is it the highest ranking Gurdwara in the country? Thus far all Gurdwaras are named based on location or Guru or group.
