The Ladies Wing of the Singapore Khalsa Association (SKA) ushered in the new year with a vibrant Lohri celebration on Sunday (11 January).
The women-only gathering brought together more than 400 participants across multiple generations. The afternoon provided an opportunity for families to collectively mark joyous milestones, including the marriages of children and the births of children and grandchildren.
The celebration was enlivened by traditional performances from the energetic Komal Group and Shere Punjab, setting a festive tone throughout the event. A bonfire was lit in the association’s carpark, around which the women sang and danced to the rhythmic beats of the dhol, in keeping with Lohri traditions.
