After more than two decades navigating the technology side of banking and financial services — including 11 years with Maybank and another five with AmBank — Ravinder Singh Bachan Singh is moving to Bursa Malaysia to lead the stock exchange operator’s technology function.
The 45-year-old has been appointed Director, Group Technology at Bursa Malaysia Bhd, effective Sept 28, 2026. He will also be designated a Principal Officer of the company.
Ravinder was previously Regional Head of Technology at Maybank Investment Banking Group, where he was responsible for technology across its investment banking and asset management businesses.
His 11-year stint with Maybank formed a significant part of a financial services career spanning more than 20 years. Before that, he spent about five years with AmBank Bhd, including as Head of Cash Management, Group IS.
Over the years, Ravinder has built experience across investment banking, asset management, wealth management and transaction banking, both in Malaysia and internationally.
His areas of expertise include technology strategy and transformation, digital platforms, cybersecurity, operational resilience and technology governance across multiple markets.
At Bursa Malaysia, Ravinder will take charge of the group technology function, placing him in a key leadership role overseeing an increasingly critical component of the Malaysian capital market operator’s operations.
Ravinder holds a Degree in Computing from Staffordshire University in the United Kingdom. He is also TOGAF 9 certified by The Open Group, a professional certification in enterprise architecture.
Bursa Malaysia announced his appointment in an exchange filing on Sept 25.
