Do you now see the sword of Guru Nanak?

Commenting on the response by Dr Karminder Singh to Dr Anurag Singh, an Asia Samachar reader went on to suggest that the arguments proffered by Dr Karminder would ‘automatically put Guru Gobind Singh out of Sikhi’.

The topic under discussion is the Ek Granth, Ek Panth, Ek Maryada slogan being championed by some Sikh organisations in Malaysia.

How did you conclude that Guru Gobind Singh Ji is OUT? Do you also think that Guru Hargobind Sahib ji, Guru Har Rai Sahib Ji and Guru Har Kishan Sahib Ji are also OUT simply because they, too, do not even have one word in Sri Guru Granth Sahib (SGGS). Why only Guru Gobind Singh is counted as OUT?

The reader, Harvinderjit Singh, asks if what the Guru Sahib had done no longer counts. “That means every thing that Guruji did outside of SGGS Ji maharaj means nothing,” he suggests.

Again, I beg to differ. Are we suggesting that whatever the other three Guru Sahibs mentioned above also don’t count? Guru Har Gobind Sahib Ji fought four wars, established the Miri Piri, the Akal Takht. Guru Har Rai ji had 2,000 cavalry with him at all times. Guru Har Kishan Ji did a lot of humanitarian work. All dismissed simply because they didn’t write any Gurbani? Is writing Gurbani the one and only criteria to judge if a Guru is OUT or IN? If that be the case, then we have GURUS who wrote thousands of shabds, rightly called as BANI KA BOHITHA (Ship of Gurbani), and some wrote just a few saloks. Some Gurus wrote in few raags, others wrote in 30 raags. One wrote in 31 Raags. Are we going to sit down and assess them as D-, C+, B, B+, A+, etc?

You are missing the point all together. If you read in depth the SGGS, you will realise why Guru Nanak ji collected, copied and kept Bhagat Bani. Guru Arjun Sahib Ji gave these banis equal status as the Guru Sahibans’ who wrote Gurbani. It’s because the beginning is in SGGS. The AAD is there and the complete circle also within SGGS. The 10 human (deh) Gurus, the 35 other mahapurash in SGGS, are at the exact same level as far as Gurmat principles are concerned. None lower, none higher. We matha tek (bow) to the ONE AAD SRI GURU GRANTH SAHIB JI as the PRESENT GURU. It is sampooran sarab kala samraath, not lacking in any thing.

Understand this and you will see that the kakaars, kesh, dastaar, kacherah, kirpan, karrah, the warrior the saint, the Miri the Piri, are all in the COMPLETE SARB KALA SAMRAATH GURU SGGS.

Tell me which Guru, which bhagat is not brave? Which Guru or bhagat does not speak the truth? Which Guru is not honouring his kesh? Which Guru is afraid to voice out against tyranny? Which Guru is calling Rajeh Sheen the mukaddam kutteh? Which Bhagat is calling for Gagan Damama Bajio, soormahs (warriors) fighting ‘Larreh deen jo het’, with sounds of war drums, swords clashing?

You do not hear it within SGGS?

When Humayun drew his sword to cut off Guru Angad Sahib Ji’s head, Guru Sahib told him: Coward, where was this sword when you were running away from Sher Shah Suri.

I see the sword that Guru Angad Ji is carrying. Can you not? You think Humayun took pity and sheathed his sword? That he was afraid of killing a saint, a holy man? No. He was afraid of the sword he saw in the Guru’s hand! The sword many Sikhs can’t see. They feel the Gurus are timid, holy men in cholas.

Guru Nanak ji faced off Babbar, the most feared emperor at his time. Guru Ji called the kings butchers, the servants dogs, to their face. Do you now see the sword of Guru Nanak?

A 7-year old boy, in full sanggat (congregation), refuses to wear the janaeau. He tells the pandit off. Now, do you see the warrior in Guru Nanak? The same teenager refuses to go around the Vedic fire at his wedding, gets a wall pushed on to him. Is this not a warrior? The man who travels the jungles, deserts, goes to Mecca, Hardwaar to preach the truth. Is this not a true warrior?

Teg Mall is a Hindu Sikh? All those who won the wars on Guru Hargobind Ji’s side are all Hindu Sikhs? The 2,000 horse riding soldiers of Guru Har Rai ji were Hindu Sikhs? If we use that “definition”, then I suppose all those kirpan wielding horse riding bhang taking nihungs, huge turbanned chola wearing sants, 12,000 villages in Punjab with 50,000 sants in deras, etc, are all Sikh-Sikhs. And ONLY they qualify to be SIKH-SIKHS. The rest are Hindu Sikh?

Guru Gobind Singh Ji is the same jyot (light) as that of AAD GURU JYOT that is Guru Nanak. To try and separate him is a “crime”. Many anti-Sikhs have tried to do the same to Guru Hargobind Sahib Ji. They claimed that the Sixth Guru had changed the direction, that he turned the peaceful Sikhs into warriors. That is the thrust of the fallacious fake book called Gurbilas Patshai Chhevin. It failed. Same conspiracy being carried out on Guru Gobind Singh Ji: To cut him out and put him in a separate form from the Guru Jyot. Whatever Divine Message that Guru Nanak ji came with, Guru Gobind Singh ji implemented it 100%, just as the other Gurus before him. The NANAK CHHAAP proves this point beyond doubt. All Gurbani by the Guru jyot carries this distinct chaap (signature).

Do not betray the One, the AAD GURU. 1469-1708. The Khalsa was revealed on the Parkash Divas of Guru Nanak ji to prove only one point: that the divine mission for which Guru Nanak Ji came to this earth was completed in 1699. Guru Nanak ji is the FOUNDER father of the Khalsa. And this same AAD JYOT is in SGGS.
