Major Balpreet Kaur Dhillon is set to be promoted to lieutenant-colonel (LTC) on July 1, marking another milestone in her service with the Singapore Armed Forces.

She previously served as Formation Medical Officer for the 7th Flotilla and Head of Naval Medical Operations for the Navy Medical Service. In these roles, she helped ensure robust operational medical support for deployed sailors of the Republic of Singapore Navy (RSN), safeguarding their health so they could focus on mission success.

Balpreet is currently completing her specialist training in emergency medicine and hopes to contribute meaningfully in relevant areas when she returns to the SAF, according to an RSN update.

“This recognition today is not just of my own efforts, but also the strong support received from colleagues and friends in the Navy Medical Service, wider RSN and SAF Medical Corps, as well as my family. I wouldn’t be here without them,” she said.

In the RSN, lieutenant-colonel is a mid-level field officer rank, placed above major and below senior lieutenant-colonel and colonel. Officers holding the rank typically serve in key command or staff appointments, including leadership roles in the Ministry of Defence.
