Balveer Singh Mahindar Singh, who oversees security operations under the General Operations Force’s (PGA) Northern Brigade, has received the 2025 Excellent Service Award (APC).
The Senior Assistant Commissioner received the award at a ceremony held at the Central Brigade Headquarters in Cheras, Kuala Lumpur on July 23, officiated by Internal Security and Public Order Department director Mohd Yusri Hassan Basri.
The APC recognises officers and personnel who demonstrate outstanding performance, dedication and commitment to their duties.
Balveer made history in November 2025 as the first Sikh appointed commander of the Northern Brigade. He previously served for more than two years as Johor Bahru Utara police chief. He holds law and criminal justice degrees from the University of Malaya.
