Big data analyst Harphajan Singh has been appointed as a Senior Vice President (SVP) at AXA-Affin General Insurance.
He assumes the role of SVP for Big Data & Analytics the insurer effective September 2016. Axa is an international insurer headquartered in Paris.
Harphajan, 35, moves from consulting firm PwC where he was responsible to accelerate insights of big data analytics as part of PwC Consulting South East Asia.

As the Chief Data Officer at AXA-AFFIN GI, he will be responsible to champion strategy to execution of business-driven data vision in alignment with the group’s ambition, according to updates at his LinkedIn profile.
Big data is a term that describes the large volume of data – both structured and unstructured – that inundates a business on a day-to-day basis. But it’s not the amount of data that’s important. It’s what organizations do with the data that matters. Big data can be analysed for insights that lead to better decisions and strategic business moves, according to information from one consulting firm.
Harphajan was born in Klang and now lives in Shah Alam, both cities in the state of Selangor.
