The small Sikh community in Kuala Pilah – located about 100km from Kuala Lumpur – deserves mention for their unique way of celebrating Vaisakhi.

They feted about 150 students and 20 teachers from a neigbouring Tamil school, ending the day with a sumptuous feast of Guru Ka Langgar, the vegetarian meal prepared by volunteers and almost customary at the end of most Sikh gurdwara programmes.

Gurdwara Sahib Kuala Pilah president Surjit Singh welcomed the students and teachers from Sekolah Rendah Jenis Kebangsaan (Tamil) Kuala Pilah on 13 April 2017.

Among those present were Malaysian Consultative Council of Buddhism, Christianity, Hinduism, Sikhism and Taoism (MCCBCHST) Negeri Sembilan chairman Delwill Singh and local leaders from political party MIC, including Manickam and Kalidass.
