Malaysian top cop Amar Singh is back on the front pages of the newspapers, again. And he is still hot on the trail of what is certainly the nation’s largest ever alleged commercial crime – the 1MDB case.

Federal Commercial Crime Investigation Department (CCID) director Commissioner Amar was literally on the front pages of most newspaper in Malaysia. Well, where else can the story go if you’re talking about seizing cash, diamonds, branded handbags, watches and tiaras worth some RM1 billion?

In a press conference yesterday (27 June 2018), Amar and his team displayed photos of some of the seized items in a case that involves the former Malaysian Prime Minister Najib Razak and his wife Rosmah Mansor.

Amar, who is active in the Sikh community circles, was supposed to retire recently. But his services has been extended for six months to pursue this major case.

Well, maybe it’s time to make him the Inspector General of Police (IGP). Now that would certainly put him on the front pages of all newspaper one more round.
