Malaysian banker Baljit Singh bags award for cash management solution

A Malaysian Sikh banker with 25 years of industry experience won a treasury-related regional award for structuring an excellent cash management solution for a major corporation.

Baljit Singh Gill from United Overseas Bank (Malaysia) Bhd bagged the Best Cash Management Solution Malaysia Award for structuring an excellent cash management solution for Boustead Plantations Bhd.

Baljit is the First Vice President for Transaction Banking at UOB Malaysia.

The award was presented by Asset Publishing and Research Ltd, an integrated multi-media company which published the magazine The Asset.

The Asset Triple A award ceremony was held in Hong Kong on 25 April 2017.

Baljit started his banking career at Citibank Malaysia in 1992. Ten years later, he joined Malayan Banking Berhad (Maybank) before joining Standard Chartered Bank Malaysia and Hong Leong Bank Berhad Malaysia. He joined UOB Malaysia in 2013.

The Asset Triple A Treasury, Trade, Supply Chain and Risk Management Awards are industry excellence recognitions awarded annually to companies and financial institutions that have launched or helped implement initiatives in corporate treasury management, trade finance, supply chain and/or risk management.

They are awarded to corporates (Triple A Client Awards) and financial services providers (Triple A Service Provider Awards), on in-country as well as regional levels in Asia Pacific, the Middle East, Europe and North America, according to promoters of the award.
