The Kuala Lumpur Sikh Sports and Recreation Club (KLSSRC) hockey junior team is gearing up for the upcoming league set to kick off in June 2024. This marks KLSSRC’s third season in the Malaysian Junior Hockey League.

Former international players Inspector Kevinder Singh and Baljit Singh Charun continue to lead the team, with Veena Kaur serving as team manager.

“Our coaches and players have been working diligently, and we aim to perform our best this season,” said KLSSRC president Baldev Singh Kailey. “The team has been undergoing weekly rigorous training sessions since March 2024 in preparation for the season ahead. We have a diverse team this year, composed of Sikhs, Muslims, Indians and Sabahan.”

Baljit said the players have shown remarkable improvement with each training session and friendly matches.

“This year, we aim to capitalise on our goal-scoring opportunities through Penalty Corner Attacks (PCA). Last season, we missed many scoring chances with our PCA, and we’re determined to make the most of them this time,” he said.

Kevinder said he was encouraged with the players’ confidence and adhering to the game plan set by the coaches.
