As the world observes the Sikh Genocide Week beginning Nov 1, Dr. Sonya D’cruz will present a 5-part series on #1984, a dark and heavy chapter that still weighs on Sikhs all over the world.
In a short introduction video, she said the 1984 Sikh genocide was carefully orchestrated and sponsored by the Government, an undeniable violation of the human rights.
She pointed out the government complicity with the mobs who directly massacred innocent Sikhs in cold blood and the decades of impunity of the guilty.

On the first day of the rioting, a friend was one of the five Sikh leaders in Delhi who called on then President Zail Singh and implored him to stop the rioting.
President Zail Singh told them, ” My hands are tied. This will go on for three days.”
And that was what happened.
