They got married 11 weeks ago. It was joyful and colourful, like most typical Punjabi weddings. The couple, sales officer Keshvinder Singh and nurse Savin Kaur, decided to take a holiday around Gerik, a small town in the Malaysian state of Perak. Kesvinder’s mum came along for the trip.

Unfortunately, this trip ended tragically. Early this morning (11 Dec 2016), their car collided with a lorry. Keshvinder and his mum Raj Kaur perished at the scene of the accident just outside of Gerik. Savin was badly injured. She is now recovering at the Taiping general hospital.

The accident took place at Jalan Gerik-Lenggong at 1.37am this morning.

It is understood that her condition is better than she was brought in earlier today but still critical.

  1. Not possible for anyone to give any advise without knowing particulrs of the deceasd or injured. Best advise would be to consult a lawyer and in the meantime visit EPF and SOCSO Officers if anyone was employed as they would have been contributing members.
Also if insured then the victims would be entitled to compensation or other benefits subject to terms of policy.
Working as a nurse with KPJ Rawang and may be entitled to free medical benefits and also entitled to some compensation if KPJ has a Group Insurance policy for its staff.
Any family member can meet me in KL Sentral for further discussions and confirm meeting date and time which is mutually convenient. 0192927178.
    Gur Fateh.
Getting legal advise may still be the best option provided the person is trustworthy as EPF has reported dangers of trusting people who represent members.

  2. My wife & son passed away in an accident on 11/12/16 is there any entitlement for expenditure. Do i has the husband & father of the deceased have any entitlement. Pls up date me tq

  3. Belated condolences to the family.
Many deceased have monies in EPF, CoOperatives, etc and benefits available from SOCSO and if the person was a member of any association. Relatives of Government pensioners are also entitled to RM3K grant from the Pensions Department and this does not need any receipts of expenditure.
Suggest children go through the old documents to confirm as not many parents tell their spouses, siblings or children of what they have or where they have. I know this is not the right time to say all this but it is important otherwise the money if any, will end up with transfer to UNCLAIMED MONEYS REGISTRAR from where it is very cumbersome to collect. Apologies if misunderstood.
