Zanjeerain leads Pakistan’s most-watched dramas as August ends

Zanjeerain, Dar-e-Nijaat, Tapish, Nashtar and Aap Ki Izzat are leading Pakistan’s drama charts as August 2026 draws to a close, signalling a significant reshuffle in what audiences are watching online.

Zanjeerain sits firmly at No. 1 with more than 31.1 million additional views during the week, according to the end-August snapshot of PakMediaTrendz, which ranks currently airing Pakistani dramas by weekly growth in YouTube views.

The HUM TV drama, starring Sajal Aly, Ameer Gilani, Ahsan Khan, Danyal Zafar and Sahar Hashmi, is set against family and tribal rivalries, with a tragedy triggering a struggle for power within the Khan family.

At No. 2 is Dar-e-Nijaat, which added 20.4 million views. The ARY Digital series, starring Dur-e-Fishan Saleem and Sheheryar Munawar, only premiered in August, making its rapid climb particularly noteworthy.

Tapish, starring Muneeb Butt, Laiba Khan and Saad Qureshi, takes third spot with 18.8 million additional views. The Har Pal Geo serial has built considerable digital momentum as its emotionally charged relationships and conflicts intensify.

Another Geo production, Nashtar, comes in fourth with 16.1 million views gained. Starring Danish Taimoor and Anmol Baloch, the newly launched drama has made an unusually fast entrance into the upper reaches of the YouTube rankings.

Completing the Top 5 is HUM TV’s Aap Ki Izzat, which generated nearly 14.7 million additional views. Featuring Urwa Hocane and Ahsan Khan, the drama is another relatively recent arrival that has quickly found an online audience.

The rankings underline how rapidly Pakistan’s television landscape can change.

When Asia Samachar reported on the phenomenon in May, the digital charts were being driven by Ghulam Bashah Sundri, Shaidai and Humrahi, which were attracting substantial audiences in Pakistan and India.

Three months later, a fresh crop has taken over. Zanjeerain, which was mentioned among the other trending programmes in that May report, has now risen to the top.
