An aspiring Malaysian entrepreneur studying at a New Zealand university needs your vote to push his idea for a city parking mobile application solution into the top five ideas for an innovation challenge.
Harvinderjit Singh, who is pursuing the Masters of Applied Finance at Auckland University of Technology (AUT), has made it into the top 10 possible successful business ideas in the AUTEL Innovation Challenge.
His idea: a GPS-based parking application on your mobile device that allows you to locate a vacant parking spot.
“We practically do the ‘seeing’ for you! We will tell you exactly where the available parking bays are,” he says in a three-minute video clip pitch on Youtube.
The second child of three siblings, Harvinderjit studied banking and finance at the undergraduate level. He then joined Standard Chartered Malaysia as a trading analyst and then Citibank Malaysia as a treasury analyst.
His goal upon graduating his Masters degree is to leverage his entrepreneurship skills to secure an investment to run his project, according to an email sent by his brother, Satwinderjit Singh, to Asia Samachar.
To qualify to the next round, the project panels and judges have created a public voting portal. Voting ends on 20 Oct.
To vote, go here. Vote for Harvin_Auckland Parking App.
