Sukhpreet Kaur, the 13-year old girl who went missing from her home in Selangor on Friday, had apparently taken a wrong bus and ended up in the next town with no money in her pocket. She slept the night at a surau, a Muslim prayer room, at a petrol station.

She had left her home in Taman Sri Sentosa, near Kuala Lumpur, apparently to be with meet up with some friends at the KL Sentral. But the friends did not turn up.

“We are happy she’s back safe and sound. Do take care of your kids,” her mother Raspar Kaur tells Asia Samachar when contacted today (11 Dec 2016).

Brickfields OCPD Asst Comm Sharul Othman Mansor said the girl was believed to have left home to meet with two of her friends at KL Sentral on Friday.

“She left home with only RM5 and when she reached KL Sentral, she realised her friends did not come,” he was quoted by The Star.

“She tried to get back home but took the wrong bus and ended up at a fast food restaurant near Section 7, Shah Alam, at around 10pm.

“She slept at a surau at a petrol station,” he said, adding that a concerned citizen saw the girl’s picture on social media and called her father.

ACP Sharul said the girl was taken to the Universiti Malaya Medical Centre for a medical check.

“The girl did not have any injuries and is believed to be in good health,” he said.

She was found after a concerned citizen recognised her from a social media posting and called the girl’s father, the report added.
