The Sikh sangat of Shah Alam, the state capital of Malaysia’s state of Selangor, today moved into the new gurdwara.
The sangat and Sikhs from surrounding areas joined in a 6.5km nagar kirtan in which they brought the Guru Granth Sahib from the old gurdwara to the new gurdwara.
Once they arrived at the new gurdwara, a kirtan darbar was organised. Among others, Dya Singh, a Malaysian-born who now resides in Australia, was one of the kirtani. Lawyer and Sikh parcharak Manjeet Singh gave a talk on Sikhi.
The new place of worship is called Gurdwara Sahib Guru Nanak Shah Alam (GSGNSA).
