The Singapore Sikh Community came together to give a donation to Mercy Relief to assist in their efforts on the ground in Nepal following the devastating earthquake on Saturday.
Mercy Relief, a Singapore humanitarian organisation which implements both disaster relief and sustainable development programmes, for the distressed, has dispatched a team to Nepal, with a team of doctors flying off today.
“The vice chairman of mercy relief told us that Sikhs are the 1st organisation to provide the donation to mercy relief for the Nepal disaster,” according to an entry on the Central Sikh Gurdwara SC Facebook page.
“We are continuing to collect donations for Mercy Relief over the next few days, there will be donations tins at most Gurdwaras.”
