Pankaj Udhas has a built a legion of fans who mourn his passing away on Feb 26, 2024. One of his ardent fans is Bhopindar Singh Gill, a Malaysian-born retired entrepreneur who now lives in Australia.
Bob Gill, as he is more affectionately known, recorded and remastered in November 2022 a philosophical ghazal for a lovely cover song.
The melodious ghazal is from Pankaj’s album “Afsana” produced in 2003. The cover song uses video mix from the original clip of Pankaj’s the live performance.
Bob was one of the founder members of the famous PJ Naujawan Kirtan Jetha that did their kirtan sewa during the 1970s to late 1980s. They had also toured south to Singapore, covering some major gurdwaras along its way like Seremban, Melaka, Muar and Johor Bahru. They had also done trips to the north to Penang covering Rawang, Gopeng, Ipoh, Taiping and Butterworth, along thr way.
Bob migrated to Australia in 1990. He has lived Melbourne and Brisbane.
