Securities Commission Malaysia (SC) executive chairman Ranjit Ajit Singh today launched the commission’s annual report for 2015.
“The capital market’s ability to remain resilient while maintaining public trust and investor confidence in a challenging global climate attests to the continuous efforts that have been put into strengthening its regulatory and institutional foundations,” he said in a statement.
The SC regulates the Malaysian capital market which is now worth RM2.82 trillion, equivalent to 2.5 times the size of the domestic economy.

Ranjit Ajit, a trained financial economist and accountant, joined the SC in 1994 and was appointed to the top position in the commission in April 2012.
He was previously managing director of the SC and has extensive experience in the field of finance and securities market regulation and has spearheaded many key initiatives in the development and reform of Malaysia’s capital market, the commission said in a statement when announcing his appointment three years ago.
